Replace Characters with Entities Feature
When writing HTML pages, non-standard characters should be defined using either named or numerical
entities, and not directly using the underlying encoding.
As opposed to the feature Fix syntax errors for XHTML compliance, this
feature can be applied on
any text selection.
This feature converts non-standard characters such as á, ñ or @ to named or
numerical HTML entities. You can select which format is used in the Web Optimizer
Transformation Options window.
The Solution
Sometimes, when a web page is being edited, international
characters could be entered directly by the user. When this happens, the
user can select any document fragment and execute the Replace Characters with
Entities feature to correct the international characters and express them in the
appropriate format. The following example shows the execution of this
feature:
